Trip Overview

Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek leads to short circuit walk around southern ridges and rolling green hills of massive Annapurna Himalaya range of mountains. An amazing country walks full of fascination where you will be bewildered by a dramatic change of temperatures and landscapes, walking from low semi-tropical full of paddy farm lands and terraces towards cool alpine areas in the shade of tall and beautiful Rhododendron-pines-magnolia-oaks and fir tree lines.

One of a fascinating walk following old Trans-Himalayan Salt Trade caravan route of Nepal and Tibet leads through our destination at Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek and beyond towards Mustang areas connecting the border of Tibet frontier. Starting this wonderful journey from picturesque Pokhara, a famous and popular touristic spot located on the laps of towering Annapurna Himalaya with serene lakes of Phewa and Begnas, truly a scenic valley blessed by the natural beautiful scenery.

Walk leads towards high hills through a number of interesting farm villages of Gurung people, and then into the cool shade of alpine forest reaching our destination at Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek with fabulous views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Himalaya. Our wonderful journey leads to famous viewpoints on top of Hill for a fantastic panorama of mountains with stunning sunrise views our highest spot of the trek at 3,210 m high.

After Ghorepani  Poon Hill Trek walk leads around a deep forest and into Ghandruk and Landruk villages and ending this marvelous short adventure with a drive back to scenic Pokhara after a glorious time in the high and scenic Ghorepani  Poon Hill trek.

Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek Itinerary (Outline)

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels.

Day 02: Drive or fly to Pokhara 950m (30 mins flight and 6 hrs drive)

Day 03: Drive to Nayapul 1,100m and trek to Tirkhedhunga 1,450m.

Day 04: Trek to Ghorepani 2,874m – 05 hrs.

Day 05: Morning hike to Poon-Hill and trek to Tadapani 2,721m – 05 hrs.

Day 06: Trek to Ghandruk 1,750m – 04 hrs.

Day 07: Trek to Potana 1,900 m – 05 hrs.

Day 08: Trek to Kande 1,460m and drive to Pokhara.

Day 09: Drive or fly back to Kathmandu afternoon free at leisure.

Day 10: International departure homeward bound.
