Overview

Edu-Medic is the scenic, historical and cultural tour of important World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu and Patan / Lalitpur city, Kathmandu with 25 centuries of history, completely surrounded by a tier of Green Mountain walls above which to the north tower the mighty snowcapped peaks during the winter.

It consists of four major cities carrying great historic, artistic and cultural interest.

After a great time in Kathmandu drive to Patan area, situated south of Kathmandu valley, from here visit the old Malla kings durbar square, temples and old monuments and the busy market after a great moment and enjoyable time visiting Tibetan refugee camp to observe the culture and making of traditional handicrafts.

It conclude this interesting sightseeing tour with a s drive to famous the visiting medieval city of Bhaktapur and drive to ancient town of Changunararyan and the oldest temple of lord Bishnu marvel its beautiful pagoda architecture and drive back to Kathmandu, next day a breathtaking scenic mountain flight with panorama view of snow capped mountains including world highest Mt. Everest at 8,848 meters.

Itinerary

Outline Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu 1,300m and transfer to respective hotels.
On reaching Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport received by our staff we transfer to respective hotels time permitting a short tour.

Day 02: A day in Kathmandu with sightseeing tour.
Morning after breakfast our city / cultural guide will meet you for an interesting tour around Kathmandu city on the best renowned historical and cultural sites, tour of Hindu holy Pashupatinath Temple, Buddhist large Stupa of Bouddhanath the area around here also known as “little Tibet” then tour of Kathmandu durbar square with old palace and royal courtyard and drive to 25,00 years old Swayambhunath you will be well informed on arrival about the time for your half day guided sightseeing tour in Kathmandu at places of interest. Sometime, depending upon your flight arrival if it’s late in the night we will do this tour in the afternoon instead of morning to give you a nice rest before you set out in our interesting tour.

Day 03: Morning Tour of Patan city and Tibetan Refugee Camp.
Tour continues from morning towards Patan area, which is situated on the south of Kathmandu, and it is separated by a bridge over the River Bagmati. Patan is also known as Lalitpur meaning city of Arts. As you enter the old Palace courtyard (Durbar) the tall terracotta house looks fascinating with intricate window carvings, and the Stone Temple of Krishna with the pillar of Garuda the vehicle of Lord Vishnu and as well of Lord Krishna. After the historic visit a short drive leads towards the end of Patan area at Tibetan Refugee camp where one can observe the happy-cheerful workers weaving carpets. This place was established in the early 1970’s after the Chinese invasion in Tibet where a great number of Tibetan migrated here, and the Nepal Government established this place as a permanent camp or settlement for the Tibetan Refugees, after a wonderful day with lunch at Patan area, drive back to the hotel.

Afternoon the tour leads towards in the hub of Kathmandu for a wonderful visit at
Kathmandu Durbar Square.

Day 04: Drive to Bhaktapur and Changunararyan.
Drive to Bhaktapur visit the durbar square, temples and old palaces of 55 windows and famous Nytapola 9 storey high pagoda temple and renowned Peacock window, after a great time in Bhaktapur a short on the high hill ridge to the temple of Changu Narayan-with views of Sankhu village to the right and Bhaktapur to the left,, a mystical medieval type small village of Newari people, walk onto the steps to ancient temple of Changu Narayan, located on a high hilltop also known as Changu or Dolagiri. The temple is surrounded by forest with champak tree and a small village, known as Changu Village, the temple Changunararyan about 14 k.m, east of Kathmandu and just 3- 4 k.m north from Bhaktapur.

The Manahara River flows beside the hill. This shrine is dedicated to Lord Visnu and held in especial reverence by the Hindu people. This temple is considered as the oldest temple in Nepal.  The pagoda style temple has several masterpieces of 5th and 12th century Nepalese art.

Day 05: In Kathmandu visit Dakshinkali and White Gompa (monastery).
Morning an hour drive south of Kathmandu outskirt of Kathmandu valley rim on the rural farming area to Dakshinkali in a serene environment here visit the goddess Kali temple and observe the local devotees on prayer with offering goats, chicken are scarified to the goddess Kali, from here visit the monastery at Pharping where lord Shambava “Guru Ringpoche” in early 7th century on route Tibet meditate here. After a great time drive back to Kathmandu rest of the afternoon free at leisure.

Day 06: Morning transfer to airport for mountain flight afternoon visit White Gompa.
Starting very early transfer to Kathmandu domestic airport for scenic sweeping flight with panorama of mountains with Mt. Everest and other world highest peaks during the flight of an hour, after an experience of life time return back to hotel for refreshment, afternoon tour of famous White Gompa, White Gompa (Monastery).

Situated on northern part of Kathmandu valley a famous monastery for Tibetan Buddhism, with its identity as Buddhist shrines it’s the place where you can feel peace state of mind. Thick green forest with hilly setting the area hosts lots of monasteries. Its takes about 1 hr and 20 min car drive from core of Kathmandu valley to head White Monastery. Main attraction of the area is White Monastery where Tibetan Buddhism practiced as years ago. With the famous monastery the whole area is known as White Monastery.

With Tibetan Buddhist cultural practice the area presents Kathmandu valley in a panoramic view with Tamang culture. It have a unique mixture you can notice during your trip is fusion of two culture and philosophy traditional Tibetan and modern Western. Here you can experience ancient Tibetan culture and practice as well as Nepalese traditional Newari.

After a peaceful afternoon and impressive visit drive back to hotel, evening dinner with Nepali folk cultural show with last night dinner in Kathmandu.

Day 07: Transfer to airport for final departure.
As per your international flight time our staff will transfer you to the Kathmandu international airport for your final departure after a memorable and enjoyable time in amazing Nepal.
