Manaslu Circuit – Larke la Pass – Tsum Valley Trek

Overview

The Manaslu is located between Gorkha and Lamjung District Circuit trek, where is less people in comparison with other treks  in Nepal. Manaslu Trek may rewarding adventurers with a tremendous alpine enjoy and was opened in 1992, this location gives a aggregate of rich way of life history, unrivaled brilliance, and natural varieties. It is very kind, full of nature and true remote adventure. The Manaslu is 8163 masl in height and the maximum elevation of pass is 5160 masl. We start the trek from Soti Khola Gorkha and will end in Besisahar, Lamjung. It has impressive scenery, fantastic suspension bridge with full of culture and ethnics community. The trailhead is reached over land and don’t need for any flight, which is followed by Budhi Gandaki River, a long and gorge river over suspension bridges. We may reach to trek site from Kathmandu passing

about 143 km by  Jeep and may take about 7 hours. But the road may problems on rainy seasons, and at that time may start from Arughat as well. May you Offer for tea hoses. Mt. Himalchuli, Mt. Ganesh Himal, Mt. Manaslu (8163masl) itself and different mountains. More than10 peaks  above 6500 meters are seen closely.  Different habitats of precious kind of flora and fauna are preserved. Protection of  ecological zones: tropical, sub-tropical, temperate, alpine and sub-alpine are preserved.

Itinerary

Outline Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome at the airport (1300 masl) and transfer to hotel.
May you observe such wonderful views over the mountains. may you receive by the officers of Nepal Edumedic Travel and Trekking Company and transfer to Hotel.

Day 02: Sightseeing explore the city and prepare for the trek.
You can spend this day exploring some of the World heritage sites in Kathmandu valley  – Swayambhu, Pashupati Temple, Bauddha Stupa, Daarbar square and so on. And we may prepare for the trek in the afternoon.

Day 03: Drive to Soti Khola from Kathmandu

We may start our drive earlier and heading to Soti Khola through Dhaidng Besi , Slayantaar (a huge flat land in hill) . We pass various hilltop villages, rural communities, small towns, green terraces, and lush hillsides on the bumpy and rough road. You may see southern face . of Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal. Finally we may reach to Soti Khola through Arughat situated in the Bhuri Gandaki Valley, stay in Lodge.

Day 4: Trek from Soti Khola to Machha Khola (900 masl) / 14.5 km / 7- 8 hours

After having breakfast, the beautiful trek may start up and down through various landscapes as,Budhi Gandaki river, waterfalls, sal forests, rice paddies field, terrace, a cliff-face of rocks ridge, river. The trail passes by crossing different suspension bridge, before reach to forest, where high speed Budhi Gandaki river and Tum Khola from Tibet

Gradually, may you reach in Khursane  (825masl) passing rocky and rough trekking trail.where you may view. Similarly, you may descend down via guorung village and reach Lapubesi.  After having Lunch, we may again climb near a rocky zone, where the valley is located up next to the river.  On the trail, you may trek up and down also via suspension bridge and cantilever pathway to reach the village of Machha Khola and stay tonight at Tea house.

Day 5: Trek from Machhikhola to Jagat (1400masl) 21 km / 8 – 9 hours

Of course high nutrients reached breakfast may build your energy to pass the gorge and gradually up following the river. we pass from narrow trail and slowly heading up and  down and also crossing Tharo Khola and then reach Khorlabesi. You may walk up and down continuously and reach small hot spring place, where can have small rest

Again, you may cross  the Budhi Gandaki over suspension bridge and also following up staircase and to Dobhan. Gradually, we may pass over the Yaru Khola following stone staircase and stone stairs. Again you may climb up to Tharo Bharyang. On the way you may see Gurung community along with wild lives like Langur Monkeys and so on.

Crossing the Budhi Gandaki bank, and going up the we get village of Jagat, considered as Flat stone village.

Day 6: Trek from Jagat to Deng (1800 masl/ /7- 8 hours / 20 km

When having Breakfast in Jagat, may you start to trek through various landscapes and dense forests, rivers and reach rural villages. Then trek will run to Salleri passing rock and ridge trail. After that the trek may start descend towards Sirdibas. After that, may you pass towards Ghatta Khola. The trail goes uphill towards Large gurung community, crossing suspension bridges. Then continuously may you walk up and down to Ekle Bhatti and you face steep and gorge.  Another beautiful place called Ngyak Besi pass through and can view Lapuchun Mountain (5950 masl). And you pass Bambo forests and reach Deng khola and you will reach in Deng village just climbing up. and stay tonight.

Day 7: Trek from Deng to Namrung (2630 masl) 20 km/ 7 – 8 hours

After having breakfast in Deng, we walk incredible and culturally significant sections in trails. When we cross the Budhi Gandaki river and climb up to the bridge, and will meet another join trail in Bihi, where the valley is passing with forests, alpine vegetations, and traditional and old villages of ethnic groups may see there.

Likewise we may see beautiful and snowcapped mountain called Siringi Himal then continue to cross the Budi Gandaki river several times and passing many Gompas, Chhortens, fluttering Prayer flags, Monasteries,  water turbine for electricity,  on the way. We climb towards Rana (1985 masl) and reach Sringi village.  and Ghep. We head towards and small gorge. Finally you can get best experience of Manaslu Conservation Area. Finally may you reach in  Namrung Village and stay tea house.

Day 8: Trek from Namrung to Samagaon (3530 masl) 7 – 8 hours / 18 km

When we have breakfast in Namrung, then walk around the village for viewing Ganesh Himal, Siring and Himal Chuli in the south, Gorkha Himal, Dwijen Himal, Saula Hilam,Lajing Peak. And may you reach Lihi passing forest steadily up through firs forest, Rhododendrones, Oaks and so on, where many stupas and barley terraces in seasons. The trail then drops and crosses the side valley of Simnang Himal with Ganesh Himal nearby.

Furthermore may you pass Sho, Lho / Lihi (2900masl), and Shyala vollages before reaching Sama gaun / Village. Really so excellence view on Manaslu. On the way we can reach  the famous Ribung Gompa. In Shyala, we see surrounded high mountains like Himal Chuli and Peak 29 (Ngadi Chuli) and, Manaslu and large glaciers directly ahead. Snowcapped other peaks can be observed to the right and Ganesh Himal. Stay in Samagaon at tea house.

Day 9:  Acclimatize in Samagaon (3530masl)

May you have long sleep and rest. It is also for adopting altitude and acclimatize by hiking. may you explore in nature. you perceive Ethnic culture. You can enjoy praying t of thousands of mani stones with Buddhist texts Sherpa women wearing clothes in and ornaments. You may view of  Samdo (Pang Puchuli), Nagdi Chuli, Simnang Himal, old gompa called Pungyen Gomp, a monastery with great views of the Manaslu glacier, Manaslu Base camp and Ice fall and so on,

Day 10: Trek from Samagaon to Samdo (3875 masl) 16 km / 5 – 6 hours

The trek will descend again to the Budhi Gandaki River and pass bridge over a side stream. We observe several Mani wall. Of course we may view such significance mountains and you will also close to the boarder of Tibet Slowly, being down and again cross the Budhi Gandaki over wooden bridge, and then climb up towards cape between two junction of the river. Then we reach the Sando Village.

We may walk just over river and cross of birch forests of Juniper and Birch and stone huts  around Kermo Kharka. Walking up gradually towards Samdo, we pass through the point of Budhi Gandaki origin which is just before village. We can view Samdo Glacier by Larke khola. Samdo village is also considered as view point of Samdo (Pang Phuchuni) Nagdi Chuli, Simnang Himal, Manaslu Glacier and Ice fall. stay in Tea house.

Day 11: Again Acclimatize in Samdo (3875 masl)

This day is very much important day. We may have two options to trek on. there are two way; a) easy way – follow the valley directly
Take an easy trail up the valley directly behind of Samdo, which is also the pass for trading with Tibet. WE can see highest views of Manaslu along with other Himalayan ranges including Simrang, Hiunchuli, Ngadi, Larkye Peak, Cheo, and sometime Kang Guru behind the pass. We may pass many seasonal group settlements called DOKSAS and see some beautiful mountain birds like the Lophophorus (the national bird of Nepal), Lammergeyer, and Himalayan Griffin soaring and so on.

And another way b) the trek is run to
A more challenging route is the trek to the Larke pass ( Gya La) 5160 masl north of Samdo a more frequently used trading route to Tibet too. It is considered as This is a full day hike and better not seeking rest.

Day 12: Trek from Samdo to Dharamsala (4460 masl) 12 km /5 – 6 hours

After having breakfast, we may trek to a seasonal Tibetan market known as Larke Bazaar and walk down towards Budi Gandaki River.  Again we cross the wooden bridge, and start to do ascend up. Gradually,we may see Salka Khola and and hear wonderful sounds then climb up again to Dharamsala, also called Larke Phedi with viewing many traditional monasteries. And stay in Dharmasala.  We can view last permanent settlement in the valley, which is called Sumdu and pass down from the Gya La (Pass), is a pass to Tibet.

Day 13: Trek from Dharamsala to Bimthang (3720 masl) via Larkya La Pass (5160 masl) 25 km/ 9 -10 hours

Breakfast must be full of nutrients and heavy for long day work in Dharamsala. And it is also more challenges one. May you view rural community, clear glacier lakes, beautiful valleys, number of flora and fauna. .

The trek may start from short climb, and reach a valley on the north side of the Larkya Glacier. This is the best place for viewing of Cho Danda and Larke Peak. We pass across moraines of the glacier, gradual ascent and steeper pass. From here, beautiful views of Himlung Himal, Cheo Himal, and Annapurna II (7937masl.). FInally you may cross  into hazy low pastures in the late afternoon with Manaslu looming in the distance. Stay in Bimthang Tea house.

As we have mentioned  the day is so hard and strenuous day and need to cross over the Larke Pass (5160 masl).  The interesting Larke Pass then we pass such boring steep towards the moraine of Salpu danda glacier and  towards Bimtang, where fabulous views of Himlung Himal (7126masl), Cheo Himal (6820masl), Gyaji Kung (7030masl), Kang Guru (6981masl) and Annapurna II (7937masl) can be seen.

Day 14: Trek from Bimthang to Tilije (2,300 masl) / 16 km / 6 – 7 hours.

After having breakfast in Bimthang, Just on head to a nearby ridge,  you can enjoy with views of Manaslu (8167 masl), Lamjung Himal, Himlung Himal, and Cheo Himal. We may going down to pass high pasture and cross a bridge over the Dudh Khola River.

From the river, trekking runs  through such forest full of Rhododendron,  and narrow valley and Karche (2780 masl)  valley. We may walk through green fields, cultivated land before making a steep climb over a ridge, slowly may you reach Gho village and destination is to Tilije, stay night in tea house.

Day 15: Trek from Tijile to Tal / 12 km / 5- 6 hours

After having breakfast in Tilije, we will continue going down and up over stone paved trail starting with a climb over a small ridge where you can enjoy the stone paved trail. Then, cross the bridge over the Dudh Khola River and reach Thonje village passing of stupa shaped arch and mani stone.Here is check point of police and again follow to Dharapani, where is outing point of Manaslu Conservation Area and ntered the Annapurna Conservation Area trek.

Moreover we will down and cross a bridge over the Marshyangdi River. There will be some mani walls before reaching the village of Tal, situated at the foot of a large waterfall and we may have natural beauty of a big river Marsyandi in Tal.

Day 16: Trek from Tal to Syange (1080 masl) / 7 – 8 hours

After taking breakfast in Tal, trail  goes down and also face steep down trail to the village of Chyamje crossing the beautiful Marsyangdi Khola as well as landscape again by suspension bridge.

The trail descends further through charming Rhododendron and pine forests to get to the village of Syange where you’ll stay the night. This is your last night on the trail! Before dinner, make sure to check out Syange’s magnificent waterfall.

Day 17: Drive from Syange to Beshishahar

We continuously go down Ngadi and use jeep to reach Beshishahar.  Both hill and mountain landscapes often coming into direct view with the banks of the Marsyangdi river. And may you reach to Beshishahar, which is headquarter of Lamjung district and also way to go Annapurna Circuit. Many ethnic groups like Gurung, Magar, Tamang and so on.

Day 18: Drive fromBeshishahar Kathmandu

Early morning Your Journey may start and you pass by Marsyandi river from Manang, a Tilicho lake which is located 4919 masl. Likewise Budhi Gandaki, Trisuli River are on the way. Dumre, Muglin, Benighat Malekhu, Famous for fish foods than in about 7 hours you may reach in Kathamndu then arrange at hotel. Traditional Nepali dinner in Kathmandu.

Day 19: International Flight Back

Farewell, You may arrange to at the  Tribhuvan International Airport 2 – 3 hours before your flight schedule. Best wishes for your safe Journey and Travel back.
