Gosaikunda – Langtang Trek

Overview

The Trekking route to Gosaikunda, Langtang Trek may very enjoyable and memorable to all personalities. The  trek is very exciting trek in the Langtang region. The major attractions in this trek include the Lauri Binayak hill climb, reach Gosaikunda, a very scared lake for Hindus and distinctive culture and traditions. The trek may start from Sundairjal, which is about 14 km from Kathmandu and it will ends in Dhunche Rasuwa, We may see and perceive such wonderful nature excellent view of the Langtang range, Ganesh Hima l (7422 masl), Manaslu – 8th Highest peak in the world (8091 masl). In the same way and may you also see the mountain range from east to west i.e. from Mt. Everest to Annapurna. The trail is not so hard but sometimes the climb is very steep making it more adventurous. In such particular  places the trail is a bit challenging

Itinerary

Outline Itinerary

Day 01: Welcome at the airport, Kathmandu
May you observe such wonderful views over the mountains. may you receive by the officers of Nepal Edumedic Travel and Trekking Company and transfer to Hotel.

Day 02: Sightseeing explore the city and prepare for the trek.
You can spend this day exploring some of the World heritage sites in Kathmandu valley  – Swayambhu, Pashupati Temple, Bauddha Stupa, Daarbar square and so on. And we may prepare for the trek in the afternoon.

Day 03: Drive to Sundarijal & Trek to Chisapani (5-6 hours)
On Jeep by half an hour drive to Sundarijal and the trek may start from starting point. We head up onto a ridge and enter the Shivapuri National park area and pass through green forest and streams. The forest may full of Rhododendron, Epiphytic Ferns, Orchids plants and other exotic and beautiful flowers.  It may take about  5 hours Sundarijal to Chisapani (2300masl) for overnight stay.

Day 04: Trek to Gul Bhanjyang (2130masl)/ 6-7 hours                
We will start walking towards Gul Bhanjyang today for overnight stay.  We will walk for around 6 hours today through forest and few settlements.  We will walk past the villages of Patti Bhanjyang and Chipling which have majority of Tamang community but all ethnic groups Chhetris, Brahmins and Newars also live with great harmony in these villages.

Day 05: Trek to Magengoth (3150msl) / 6-7 hours
After breakfast we will walk for couple of hours to reach the first village on the way, Kutumsang (2470m.) We will slightly walk uphill through terraced fields, meadows and forest  as the trail starts changing character as we will be walking from warm, terraced and populated ‘middle hills’ to the higher, and refreshingly cooler, ‘temperate’ and ‘sub-alpine’ zones. By the time we reach the top of the climb, we are in amongst rhododendrons and conifers. And we resch from Gul Bhanjyang to Magengoth by 6- 7 hours, overnight stay.

Day 06: Trek to Phedi (3500masl) / 6-7 hours
Today we start to be ascending to Tharepati (3490masl), an excellent morning time to us back up onto the main ridge, with amazing scenery across a middle ground of blue ridges, to the peaks of the Rolwaling and the western Khumbu. Our trail now swings away from the ridge and crosses some very steep ground at the head of the valley of the Tadi Khola, and mission for reaching Laurebina La. This looks short but steep up and down. We may pass the tiny settlement of Ghopte, to the equally small one of  Phedi (3500masl).

Day 07:  Trek to Gosaikunda to Laurebinayak (3950masl)/ 6-7 hours
Today is the most exciting part of the trek and the trail is very steep as it leads to Laurebinayak la (4610masl.), the highest point of the trek. After that, we ascend to reach Gosaikunda, an secret place of Hindus (4380m).On the way we see the Manaslu, Ganesh Himal Langtang Lirung and other famous mountains. We will have the stay of the night in lodge

Day 08: Trek to Dhunche (1950masl) / 5-6 hours
Today it takes about 6 hours walk down the hill to reach Dhunche. It is a pleasant walk, with the white mass of Langtang, Lirung on the right with viewing Ganesh Himal in front and Pines, Barberries and Rhododendron. Overnight at Dhunche.

Day 09: Back to Kathmandu
Exploring in Dhunche then we take a bus ride back to Kathmandu. And Evening Dinner

Day 10: Departure from Kathmandu.
